The Building Blocks of Architecture Creative Showcase 2019-2020

Architecture is one of the essential elements of our everyday life, from the most straightforward framework that offers shelter to large-scale cities of sophisticated buildings that shape the environment.

Both drawing and creating 3D models help facilitate an understanding of architectural structures, spaces and design. Understanding these concepts also enables a more personal response, allowing students to explore their own sense of place and heritage and create an intimate portrait of ‘home’, real or imagined.

This has allowed the children to study different artists’ techniques and explore their meaning. The children made cardboard houses, used their imagination to produce their drawings of homes, and created their own versions of artists’ work.

On Friday, 24 January, the art room was transformed into an immersive art gallery. Many parents and children attended The Creative Showcase to view the students’ artworks and to hear Bel and Ryanne perform ‘Budapest’.

Most of the artwork will remain for a few weeks for those who have not yet seen the exhibition.
